Red China's hypocrisy

The government of Red China is complaining about Japanese textbooks that "gloss over" Japanese war crimes before and during World War II.

First, let me say that the Communist leadership has a point. What Japan did during WWII was terribly evil, and it such evils should be a prominent part of history classes. The phrase that comes to mind is that "he who forgets history is doomed to repeat it."

However, if anyone really believes that Red China is truly offended by this, I have some ocean front property in Arizona to sell you. China's Communist government has ben guilty of human rights violations against their own people for decades. Political prisoners in Red China are still tortured and held without trial. Mao Tse-tung presided over mass murder of Chinese citizens.

Hu Jintao, President of Communist China, also said that "[Japan] should never do anything again that would hurt the feelings of the Chinese people or the people of other Asian countries." Excuse me while I roll my eyes. Perhaps Hu should apply that same standard to Red China's dealings with Tibet. I'm sure the oppressed people of Tibet are concerned with a lot more than "hurt feelings" from China's Communist government.

The hypocrisy here is stunning. One would think that Red China would be more concerned about the human rights violations going on today rather than hurt feelings over what happened 60 years ago. Japan should publicly call Red China out on this hypocrisy and make it clear what Red China's true motivation is: political power. Red China does not want Japan to be on the Security Council because they do not want Japan to be an obstacle to their abitions in the region.

"Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye." Matthew 7:5.
